Yeah the moose where in very sparse timber. We got to within 40 yds of 4 bulls but none were over 50".

JR - Just watched your Alaska trip of 2012, that looked like an amazing trip.....but no story about the grizz you shot at 10 yrds? That's pretty crazy. And did you guys ever end up patching that red raft you took a few attempts at? Thanks for the info and awesome videos

Goose -

I was walking through a spruce patch on a heavily used game trail hoping to bump into a moose, when the brush erupted about 25 yds from me. Coming right at me was a griz at full charge. First shot hit just left of the head and when through the vitals but didnt break him down. By the time I chambered the 2nd round he was nearly on me so I pulled up and shot looking down the barrel . I hit him at the back of the skull and through the back bone. He was 8'4" and a 26" skull before drying.

The red raft has since been patched ... not in the field though.
