I am planning a cariboo/moose hunt for mid September flying out of Dease to the Kawdy and am looking for the best lake to drop into. Kinda of interested intersted in dropping off at a high altitude lake and hunting our way down to a better lake for moose and pick-up. Any advice?

Welcome to HBC

I'm sure there is someone here that can help you out as I know a few guys here that have been up that area.

HBC is definitly the place to ask questions like this, helping others is why this site was created.

Don't assume you won't find Moose at high elevation lakes. Nothing could be further from the truth

Blackfly Lake on the West side of the Kawdy. Caribou rut at Badman Point and moose are right there if you just cow call from camp. Walking from one lake to another can be complicated.

Tuya Lake at the West end can be good as well.

Kilgour has both plus sheep. Long walk east up to the plateau for caribou but they are there.
