Today was easily my most exciting day of hunting I've had yet. After half a dozen times out for ducks, being skunked each time either due to lack of cooperation by ducks or just bad shooting on my part, I finally connected on multiple ducks.
I started off the day by being invited to a field a friend of mine has access to. The field was cut in half by a slough, so to start off we crept up to the edge of the slough to try and jump some ducks, I lined up on a drake as he took off down the slough and connected, one shot one duck down! The rest of the morning was slow but i was happy with my first drake.

I closed the day out with a quick evening shoot at my cousins hazelnut grove. There was no action at all until 10 minutes before end of shooting light when the sky opened up and it was as if the clouds were raining woodies and mallards. The action was fast and furious with the three of us shooting it seemed every few seconds. I ended up with a mallard and my first ever 2 for 1 on a pair of wood ducks!
