Third time I'd hunted this property, but only scratched 3 - 5 birds each time. It was steady action from 9:00 till 10:00 with flocks always in the air. Unfortunately almost every time a flock came into the spread there were about 5 other ones that looked interested but that's life. Birds were setting to far out from the deeks at the beginning of the day but changing the spread up made the last flock come in perfect with a kill of 4 with no escapees!! It was the first time that Parker our chocolate lab came on a goose hunt. He didn't hesitate taking down wounded geese though making some long runs. He did slip off his collar however when there were some birds in the air, and he blew them off running around through the spread.... Also went to the Chemainus trap club on boxing day with Franchi Kid and Field Marshall who leant us some of their deeks since they took today off. Thanks for that. You'll get some moose steaks as a rental fee. A little damp but a good shoot.

nice work, sounds like the pup is coming along well, keep up his obedience work over the off season youl beat the breaking, it's not necessarily a bad thing, he's still a puppy and you cant train desire.

Awesome work fella's persistence is key, and consistency with the dog will pay dividends in the end
