nah that land belongs to the marshalls and the guys that own black mountain aggregate lease a lot of it or possibly own half of it now and unless u marry someone or save someones life theres just about 0% chance u will get permission on the land even for coyotes. but its worth atleast trying Brad Bennett may own part of the land as well.

why do you think all the big bucks hangout there, they know no one can hunt them!

I am a cousin of the Thompsons, and am not allowed to hunt up there.

it pretty tough getting permission up there! my cousin and I had permission to hunt dogs up there a few years back. but then the land was sold to a Japanese guy and he wasn't to interested in allowing us to keep hunting up there

There are quite a few different landowners up there - depends on the parcel. You can see all the different parcels on IMAPBC. A bunch of it is for sale right now.

Good luck getting permission to hunt.

My family asked for permission to walk in that area. We have hiked all over Black Mountain. In the winter, at the crest of the hill above the Hwy 33, we saw 4 Mulie bucks and approx. 15 does in a group enjoying the sun. The bucks were watching us but not run away.

About 6 years ago, we were hiking on Black Mountain near the power line road. A man in a white truck with a quad was working on the fence. We asked the man if we could walk on this land. Man said, "It is okay to walk but no vehicles with motors". Sorry, I can't remember his name and maybe the land has been sold to new owners.

Pretty good view from here, too. Sure you get a glimpse of this once in awhile.

An even 50 in total - 35 cows/calves and 15 bulls, 3 of which were six points.

i know a couple of the marshals and yes they did sell that portion but with a long term grazing lease they still own about 1500 acres on the other side of the mountain. and unless you grew up with one of em, good luck getting permission to hunt. they do not want people hiking up there either. though it seems like the pyman rd side is becoming a dog walking spot with people that think private land is for sharing, you wanna hunt private land, go buy a chunk!
