A friend and I might be headed up to Fort Nelson to try and fill a cow Elk tag. Looking for any info on this area. Or if you know anyone that has Private Land in this area that will give permission to hunt.

I'd start by not driving all the way to Fort Nelson as that would be about 100 miles past where you can legally hunt.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing as to why you are heading that far north. Definately out of the 7-20A region. Right now we are in a warm speel up here during the day and freezing during the night for the last couple days anf for the next few days. Still roughly about 2 feet of snow and melting with crusty on the top. South wind last night. Definately goofy weather here in comparison to last year. The elk are around though. Just have to drive around a little to get a lay of the land. depends on what equipment you have though for traveling in the bush. Phone the CO's office to obtain a list of ranchers that contain elk. However there might be some on that list that may not want hunting to occurr. catch 22 on that one and go figure.
