Well with a little bit of razz I figured it was time to post up my 2013 season....

With my job, I am having to always go to the coast for work training. End of september I had to go and was a little pissy as it was time to hunt, not go to school! I dont know any areas to hunt down there so I figured I would bring my salmon gear and sturgeon rod and head out in the jet boat with my brother in law as we get out of training around 2:00 each day. After limiting out on salmon in about 1/2hr, we set up for sturgeon. It wasnt 15min and my rod tip started to bend slightly. I grabbed the rod and set the hook..... About 40min later, I landed this 6 1/2 footer! Kinda made me not think about hunting for a bit!

After my training was all done and get back home, it was time to start chasing goats. Mark joined me on my hunt. We loaded up our gear, put my diesel in top gear and headed north! We were going to stay at a friends cabin in the area for my draw. Weather was kinda shitty. Rain, fog and rising rivers. Once there we were able to see goats rite away. Didnt see any cranker goats, but billies for sure. After checking out the river which we had to cross, we figured we would go after a bedded down billy. Not sure if he busted us or not, but once we got close to him, he was bookin up the hill... Will try again...
Next attempt was a little scary crossing the river which came up big time. With our chest waders on and walking sticks we crossed the river and headed 3hrs up to another goat we spotted. Getting closer we realized that on our tour through the thick crap, we were 2 slides over from the goat. Sneaking accross the slide we spotted the goat bedded down. Sweet! I dropped my pack and slowly set up for a shot.... My foot slipped and knocked some rocks down. CRAP! Goat gone........ Back to camp we go.
Finall day we make one more attemp. We spot the same goat 3 slides over and decide to go after him. 3 or so hrs later we were 200 yards below him. I again drop my pack and set up to shoot! BOOM! the goat moves a little and BOOM again! He drops and slides towards us! My first goat!!! After de boning and caping we headed back to camp with wobbly knees and a big smile!

We were hanging out at the cabin, heating up water for the shower bag when this witetail comes screeming by the cabin! Its a buck! And my gun is in my truck! I sneek to the truck and grab my gun and sneek up on this buck. Its a 5pt. Didnt know if I wanted to shoot or not but I did! BOOM! Turns out its a 5x5 with matching G2 kickers!http://i1092.photobucket.com/albums/i408/scottwh/DSCN0144_zps4db6de44.jpg (http://s1092.photobucket.com/user/scottwh/media/DSCN0144_zps4db6de44.jpg.html)
Back home we go... Elk is done so off to moose! Head up to a spot I havnt been to for a while and rite away see a moose at 800yrds! Sweet! Its a bull for sure. I did a long cow call and got him closer by about 200 yards! Put the sneek on him and confirmed immy, BOOM! Moose starts running for heavy cover. Crap. I knew I hit him though. I found the heavy blood trail, then the moose! 4hrs later, I got him to the truck! Isnt alot easy about a moose in the timber!!

As I have a freezer full, I only wanted a cranker. In 5 days I seen alot of 4x4 bucks, some bigger than any I have ever shot, but not the one I wanted! Next year mabey I will have a big muley pic and some sheep pics to post! There were also a few other HBC'ers at our camp that got their moose draws filled, please add pics if you like! Also Mark, please add pic of the goat with the two of us as I couldnt load it up :) Thanx for the read!
