Does anyone know of a good gunsmith near smithers? I'm looking to get a Remington model 700 rebarreled and trigger work done. I've done some searching online and found bobs guns in burns lake but the number is no longer in service?? Any help would be nice, looking to get a decent mountain rifle built!

I think Gary Eakin in Houston was going to do some gunsmithing when I ordered my barrel from him last year. Bighorn sales in his company, his # last year was 250 845 2201. If he isn't I'm sure he could recommend someone to you. The Benchmark barrel I got from him was top notch, brno284 on this site put a 35 Whelen together for me, did a nice job.

I've used Corlanes/Rocky Mtn Rifles a lot and I'd suggest them in Dawson Creek

Dawson Creek is a 10 hour drive one way, longer in the winter.

There was a guy in Telwa, put a beauty Black Walnut stock on my .270 but that was a long time ago, maybe 15 years. You could ask around though, try asking the sporting goods store in Smithers.

You could ship it to Dawson Creek cheaper than you could drive it to Terrace

yup. I can't even drive 100km and back for the cost to ship a rifle to anywhere in Canada via Canada Post. Only a phone call away

I've had corlanes do quite a slug of work for me the last few years, I suggest them to anyone that asks. Sometimes it takes a little while to get it back, but the job they do is top notch. Canada post works pretty good.
