Well, after some polite pestering from some fellow members, i figured id post up my last few years of hunting pics and videos. Ill do my best to put them all in order but there are a metric-shit-ton of pics. Most of the pics are cell phone shots and are not of the best quality so i apologize before hand. Something else id like to share is that all of the mulies that i post up are region 8-11/3-12 kills from my father and myself starting from when i was 16. Another odd note is that at least 4 of the bucks were killed on halloween and 2 of my whitetails were shot on a friday the 13th. Here we go!

HA! monster from this year.....and come to think of it, from the past 4 years, is still out there. My last big mulie was that 4x4 with the weak g2s. And that was 5 years ago i believe. Ive passed up on a LOT of bucks because im always trying to better myself. Ive also eaten a LOT of tag soup. I was fortunate to always be in on or be the one harvesting an immature moose so meat wasnt a big deal for me. I grew up hunting mulies(as you can see) and im in the hunt for that illusive 30" wide and/or 200" deer. Ive been close multiple times but they dont get that big for a reason. Im not trying to brag or sound like a douchetool, but in the past 4 years, ive passed up on at least a dozen bucks in that 150-170 range. I start to get excited around the 180s and have a hard time not pulling the trigger if i have the time to do so. In my 2012 season, i ran into my 200"+ deer but he managed to disappear in some christmas trees and i never did have a clean shot at him. My mulie tag tasted better than ever last year.

I didnt have much time to prepare for this season around here as i had my cams out in the kootenys for 3 months and i got a new job working shift work so my time spent not at work was usually at home doing house stuff and digital scouting for my early bow season. My whitey buck that i shot yesterday, i had seen the day before with a small spike so i just went back into the same area yesterday and the stars aligned. Ill get to posting that pic when im done with some of my vids here,.

Heres a video of my first elk encounter a few years back. I was a newb when it came to everything and was a horrible caller. I was always hunting alone and trying to bring one into bow range is hard to do in the thick stuff. And just to make things clear, this video is 2 that i put together. Both my feeble attempts at calling were actually around 7-8 minutes a part if i remember correctly. I didnt end up connecting with this bull. He came into 40 yards but never came into my shooting lane. It was worth every second of it though.

In the meantime, ill post up my 2013 season as some people are wondering about my whitetail i shot.

I started my season out in 4-25 for 2 weeks chasing elk and goats. We had made a scouting trip out there for July long which turned out to be awesome as there were elk running around everywhere. We saw more elk than deer and a bunch of great bulls. We new that we would have to work for them but that was ok. The wife had a goat draw for the region so that was 2nd on the list of things to kill. Fast forward back to september 1st and i am in there area with a bow. To sum it all up, it was a bust. All the goats that we had seen in her zone were not accessible to by man. And all the elk that we had seen had up and left the valley. In the 2 weeks that i was there, i saw 1 nice 6x6 bull during the archery season that i couldnt get a kick at and a cow and calf walking across some scree. That was it. Wolves had moved into the area and we figure that they pushed a lot of the game out. That combined with all of the road washouts, made for a lot of kms on the boots with nothing to show. I went back to work and ended up hunting around kelowna for elk and managed to call in a few small guys but that was it. Elk season came and went with nothing in the freezer and i was going to be at work for all of the immature bull moose season. YAY! When i was on my week off work, i would pound my traditional areas, often putting on 10-15km on my boots a day. I passed on a few smaller 4x4 mulies and back to work for me. I came home with a few days left of any buck and ended up passing on 4 bucks on the last day of any buck season. 3 2 points and a super tall 3x3. I worked all through the mulie rut and only managed to hunt the last day of 4point. Turns out that would be all the time i needed as i had a nice 150" mulie in scope one afternoon and was just about to pull the trigger, as i have no meat in the freezer, when i thought, hey, why dont i let the wife shoot it. Well, she was to short to see over the bush that it was behind so off it trotted. we went looking for it and all we found was a hot doe with a HUGE 4x4 on her trail that i saw for a split second when we were on our way back to the quad. Awesome! Thats hunting i suppose. I come to cherish the time spent out in the bush with the wife as we have been able to witness many sunrises and sunsets together. Enough of the mushy stuff. I hunted the first day of archery mulie, and was at full draw on a deuce when i noticed some movement behind him. Came off draw and grabbed the binos. 20 yards behind the 2point is a 170+" perfect 4x4. Lots of tine length and great mass. Problem is, id have to go logging to get a shot at him. i wait him out, the wind shifts and off he goes. Dammit!! I had 2-2 points at less than 30 yards and the big 4 at 50 and i still have an empty freezer. Well, thats it for me. Back to work i go. work my 2 weeks and i get home on monday night. Get all my gear ready and out i go for the last day of archery mulie. If its got bone on its head, im putting a dink in the dirt! Back to the same area i go. Crunchy snow make it impossible for a stalk. I find nothing up high so down low i go. Lots of does at the snow line. Screw it. Time to go lower i say. Noon rolls around and im on some trail that i have no idea where it goes. 5 more minutes and im turning around. I look up to see some does standing on the hill. i go to leave and i notice more deer down the hill below me. I grab the binos and sure enough, theres a spiker mulie. This is where it gets interesting. A lot of you might frown on me for taking the shot, but all the guys that i shoot archery with know how much i like my long distance shooting. Hell, i was shooting the 900 rounds with my hunting setup for a whole summer. I recently changed to a single adjustable pin and was very accurate out to 100 yards. Sub-moa you could say. I could hit a pieplate at 100 yards every shot. Anywho, range the deer. 78 yards at a 20 degree downward angle. Shoot for 73. Dial my sight to 73, draw, anchor, breath, vitals, release. Bingo. He goes 20 yards and dies in plain sight. Complete pass through, both lungs with top of heart. This turns out to be the smallest buck ive ever taken but i dont care as i had done it with my bow. I forgot my phone at home so all i have is this pic after i was done skinning him.

I take a rest day on wednesday and go out on thursday to kill me a whitey doe. I see 4 bucks that i couldnt get close enough to and probably 40 does. Came to full draw once on a doe at 50 yards and she bolts as i come to anchor. My dad is itching to kill soemthing with his excalibur that i got him for christams last year so we make plans to go back up in the morning to try for a doe. In the same general area as i saw 2 of the 4 bucks the previous day, i spot 3 does a few hundred yards away. Off the quad i get and proceed to stalk my way to them. The snow isnt to bad as it has warmed up but they decide to go over the bank so i cant seem them now. My dad is a few hundred yards behind my quad and takes off in the opposite direction on his quad thinking perhaps he can head them off. As I come to the ledge that they just dropped off of, I look to my left and see a body moving up the bank roughly 150 yards from me. I crouch down into a stalk and fold the long grass under my feet as im going as to be as quite as possible. I get to within 55 yards of him and hes about to crest the bank he is walking up. I set my sight to 60 yards as i think he will be that far away when he crests, he gets to the top and looks away. I stand, draw, anchor, breath, vitals, release. WHAP! he drops. Shit. He ducked the string and I hit him high and took out his spine and a main artery. He slides down the hill and i put one more into his heart at 30 yards to end him. In hindsight, i probably didnt have to take the 2nd shot as the amount of blood all around me is astonishing. All in all, 2 bucks in 3 outings is good for me! That concludes my 2013 season. I still have a TON of pics that i need to find of the preseason scouting and other outings.

yeah, ive got more pics of him. he looks fine in the rest of them. ive got 2 pics that make him look weird and one is right after the other. must be the way his body is positioned.
