Im from manitoba so im always looking up hunting in the mountains and watching videos of sheep and elk hunts, but iv never heard much about whitetail hunting in BC. From what iv seen the muledeer hunting is awesome, but hows the whitetail hunting? If anyones got pics of deer they have taken i would love to see them. Ill try to upload some of mine but im new to the forum so i havent quite figured out how yet haha.

Lots of WT's here in BC. They are building in popularity as a game species. Hunting them a big adjustment for most of us who grew up hunting mule deer. :-D

Picture posting instructions are in my signature line.

That because we don't want foreigners coming over here from the prairies. hehehehe

Hey dude for bucks you're on to I think its pretty friggin beautiful  There is beauty in the prairies big time as far as I'm concerned its just more subtle. Welcome to the site. Sounds like maybe you're thinkin of coming out this way to hunt the mountains some day? That'd be cool we totally let foreigners in, hell we even let coach come here

Hey Salty. Ya the deer hunting is pretty good out here. Lotsa competition with other guys thou. Im trying to get out there for a hunt, just trying to see who the best outfitter would be. Its flippin expensive to go on a hunt in BC if your a non resident haha. The thing that i wanna experience the most is hunting in the back country.

Well there is another route on that fulldrawlife... Someone from BC with a hunting licence can sponsor you and take you out, google up bc hunting regs and 'accompany to hunt' I think it is..... So you better start hangin around and makin some friends. LOL

edit- should add on that that's only for species that have a general open season mainly just deer. For sheep etc. its a guide show or for residents its a lottery type deal called limited entry...

I hunt a bit north of you every year, have since the early 90's, tough to get quality bucks in there maybe due to the guides or locals, not sure, but it nice to see the big bucks you have killed

poaching has hit my area hard lately. its really unfortunate cause it could be such a great area. early season is now proble the only time to get big bucks around here. Guys were having a hard time hunting the rut this year. Were down to one tag per person witch i like more, but i waited all year for deer season and was tagged out and done hunting within 6 days of season opening haha

yes in our area, the out of season hunting has really hurt the big bucks, but I am sure if I spent time with trail cams and early season scouting we would get good chances at big bucks, but its a family trip so we enjoy the time more then the big bucks

I'm not sure if you'd count the points at the bases of the antlers, I call him a 5x5 but if you were to count the smaller ones he'd be a 7x6 which will probably prolong the curse haha! And if anyone's thinking he's hit too far back it's because I shot him with buckshot.

I grew up out in BC but now live in MB. I think MB is pretty darn beautiful. Gotta explore more than just Stonewall, though it is a great little town.

iv been all over, manitoba has its places. the riding/ duck mountains is nice, along with the eastern side of the province being very nice. but where i am its farm land bush and swamps haha no hills or anything. hunting far north up past thompson for moose you get into some cool areas to
