Last Day of my Elk Hunt. I wasn't gonna go out but thanks to my son, who convinced me to give it one more go, I shot this nice cow elk 15 minutes into legal shooting light. It was pretty cold as you can see the frost on the whiskers

Good on your son to get you our for the last day. Even in the frosty weather. Now you have another pile of meat to slip into the freezer. Or just leave it in your carport. Colder there than in the freezer anyway.

Did you take your gloves off when field dressing?

Got my white-tail in early Nov in -20 and I just dressed him with my gloves on!!! ha ha ha!!

left them on but when they got wet with the blood they pretty much instantly froze
