Region 8 late season archery muley buck

I took this buck on Saturday. I was hunting out by myself but knowing my buddy is hunting the same area somewhere close by. I was following a small buck track for a few kms until he brought me down to a skid trail where it looked like he met up with a doe. The trail was riddled with track. I followed it until his track brought me to a real steep slope where I was not about to climb down. So I turned around hoping to see something on the convenience of the road. I looked across the way and seen someone waving his arms around. It was my buddy curt, I looked through my Binos and seen that he was trying to tell me something. He then calls me and claims he has seen 2 big bucks and that I should get over there in a hurry. Few minutes later I arrive to where he is. Curt says he spotted a decent buck bedded down in the hill side on his was in. We made a plan to sneak our way above him and try and make a shot at him. We split up roughly 100 yards apart and head in. when I spotted him he was 44 yards below me grazing. Quartering towards me I wait for him to move to get a nice broadside shot. I got to that point undetected until he looked up. I was frozen hoping he would put his head down at least once more so I could draw back. He did so I drew back and as I did so he turned. I put my pin on his vitals and let my rage broadhead fly. I heard it crash into his shoulder. After it was all said and done, my 5x5 is already at Bernie's taxedermy.

Wow, congratulations on a very fine archery buck!!! Heavy old stud, for sure! Must have been a few tense moments waiting for the shot. Good discipline waiting for the right shot opportunity.
