Best low cut hiking boots?

Choppers last thread has inspired me to ask the HBC team.
I will be needing a new pair of hunting/hiking boots for a horseback trip next fall.
I prefer a lower boot so that when climbing i can flex a bit,,also would prefer a waterproof boot,,all suggestions and experiences would be helpfull as well as where to buy them,,thanks guys and gals
