Out checking the trapline a couple days ago, pulling a lynx out of one of my snares and herd a few odd ravens kickin around. Figured there must be some kind of predator in the area. Went about 2km towards their general direction, threw on the fox pro with the cottontail in distress, within a minute there were 2 wolves on a dead run towards me, with the E call between us, had to think fast, shot this guy at 30 paces, the other got behind some thick stuff before I could shoot. 223 shooting a 55gr Vmax, dun! Just over 6' nose to base of the tail on the stretcher!!

I have not checked for years, but I thought we couldn't use electronic calls for predators here in BC. Have the rules changed or can you use one because you are trapping?

You can use electronic pred calls for anything except bear in bc, hunting or trapping.

Hahaha, your got that right! Makes a guy go weewww!! Just like a shot of over proof rum! Lol. This is the second time iv shot a wolf running at me with a call, the first time was a pack of 14, that's a whole nother story in itself tho.

No iv never done any wolf trapping or snaring, yet!! I did pick up a bunch of wolf snares from sharps in pg the other week tho, gonna try my luck here once the conditions are good. This is actually my first time using snares on the trapline, first week scored 2 lynx tho, must be doin somethin right lol.

Not really any trick to it. It's normal to see a raven or 2 kickin around, but when you hear 4,5+, generally there might be a kill around. The ravens I was hearing were kinda spread out over a logging block, sounded like 4 or 5 maybe, but not all together, that made me think there wasn't a kill around, but maybe a wolf pack or coyotes or somethin.
Basicly, anytime you see more then a couple ravens, it's worth a look around, hope this helps!
