You want to come when there is a lot of snow and it is really cold. It will increase your odds substantially.

There has been lots of cow elk taken down in Jan for LEH you should have no probes filling your tag..

Colder the weather the better! Last time I had the draw it was warm with little snow, we did get our elk but had a tough time. You will be fine with mid Jan as long as the conditions cooperate.

Like this week!!! Was +4 at noon, -10 at 4pm and now will be cold with snow until tuesday. Was heading out tomorrow until I cracked my ribs this morning while reffing a hockey game.......I guess the elk will have to wait a couple weeks.....

-15 and snowing like a mutha trucker right now in 7-20....special ag zone, and the Elk are eating the hay....easy to see them right now, although they are a bit spooky...
