Some of you may remember this thread from two years ago;

Anyhow, after some planning we were able to put in a hunt for "ourselves" for two days in a special spot that's produced some pretty descent bucks in the past. So off we went after glassing deciding just to dive in. The plan was I was going mid mountain angling in and j to the top and we'd work our way along giving us about 4-500yrds between us.. Easing in I was able to pic up multiple deer and small bucks.. There were two sparing within 100 of me then another two doing the same about 1500 or further along.. Seeing this had me full of anticipation!! Easing past the bucks with a perfect wind had me right on top of two does 150 yards apart, I froze and glassed carefully.. No horns in sight.. I eased in towards the top doe only to get busted as she bolted.. Closing the distance to the draw where she went up I seen some more in and up high right where j was roughly and there in behind I see one tall deep forked antler in behind.. I rest up and can't pick out which is the buck.. They move on... I call on the radio no one answers.. F! What the hell? I wait for 5, ease on again watching the other doe below, then the radio goes off! "I couldn't shoot!" What? U seen him? "Ya I was havin a shit and he ran out in front of me! I waddled after him but all I had was a face shot, then they bolted.." So on we eased, now really knowing our where abouts.. Another 500 or so in had me seeing more action up top, with two or three young bucks runnin a doe! It was hard to tell what they were but new they weren't shooters.. J on the radio saw them too and we watched more with anticipation.. Being restless as I am I eased in more hearing a noisy creek that had me curious checking over the ledge only to spot a heavy body buck moving parallel below me with no idea I was there! I moved ahead, sat down and looked at him through the scope, debating taking him,seen some extras BANG! Woo Hoo!!! Then not 5 seconds later, BANG! That came from 500 yards above! I yelled out, F'off!! I got back "Ya buddy!" Not going down to my buck I went up to see this!

He tells me I thought you were shorting at this one? I was all lined up, you missed and yelled then he jumped forward so I shot! SWEET!! Looking his deer over and taking pics we figured he was just in prime maybe had one more bigger year ahead. Also he had a busted lower jaw where it fuses together along with a few missing teeth.. Otherwise in nice shape..
We we trudged back to the top for our packs turned back and dealt with his buck. Letting it cool we proceed waaaayy down sliding and falling into the f'n hole where my buck was.. I still hadn't seen him so my anticipation was somewhat dull knowing it wasn't anything near what jabe had got.. Getting down to it found his rack wedged on the downhill side under a pretty big log. When I got my hands on him I was more than pleased and to be honest in a bit of shock!

i guess looking almost straight down on him made me misjudge.. But I'm not complaining :)
I believe this warrior was on the down hill side, he was beat! Missing teeth deep wounds, abcessed face, weeping eyes, just really run down!
