Just found out on the weekend that Kamloops has a tannery. The taxidermist I took my buck to uses them but obviously no personal experience myself.

Ray Wiens will do tanning now. The bonus is that he can do any small taxidermy to the hide as well. Something not all tanneries will do.

Northgate.

I have not heard anything good about them, but I cant speak from experience.

Advance in Vernon is great.

Ok thanks for the info fellows. If i have a hide to ship out it must be fleshed and salted, correct? I have never fleshed a fur so if it was less than perfect can they still turn out a good product?

Didn't a new one open up in Williams Lake or Quesnel area ?

Salted or air dried , depends on the item.

Depends what you mean , but maybe a taxidermist would be better if it needs special care , even though not mounting.

This is the last Tannery i would even consider sending and piece of fur too. The last time i shipped fur to them they cut a beaver almost in half, singed a coyote to the point it had no commercial value and cut large hole in a bobcat and a lynx. As well the claws were missing off of the bobcat???? I also gave them a buddies wolf for tanning. They lost it!!!! Would I go back or recommend? Not a chance!!!!
