After passing on a few decent bucks and missing a nice one at the end of October, I haven't been able to find a legal buck to save my life. All my friends were dropping nice bucks and I was beginning to think I wasn't going to find one. I took a trip back to region 5 to hunt my usual end of november spots and it payed off, first day I was there.

I had built a blind in the spot I shot a buck last yr so i set out and waited there for most of the morning, didnt see a thing other than a little spike on my way back for lunch. After talking to my dad about where to go he told me to go hike the ridge where he had shot a buck this yr already since thats where the majority of the deer tracks were.

I parked the truck and headed out for a hike. About 20 mins in I caught movement out of the corner of my eye, put the binos up and saw a rack and the top of his head looking at me about 65yrds. I could tell he was a 4 point right away so as brought the gun up he was just started to stand up so I shot when he got to his feet and he dropped on the spot. I am pretty happy with him, it's the first buck i've shot with a sticker point and he has a pretty heavy frame. One of the bigger bucks I've shot.

I'll start out with some pics through out the season so far...

Sunrise while bowhunting

Here's a crappy picture of a lynx I saw, was cool to see him as I've only seen a couple before

Here's a pic I got of a bull moose that I saw and ended up spooking him right infront of my camera. I wasn't very happy about it since he trampled right through the area I was expecting a big buck to come out of

Here's where the bull ran through, I saw a really big buck there in the summer and then got a couple trail cam pics of him, never did see him again

Went on an elk hunt where we messed up an opportunity at a huge 6 point but it was a good trip otherwise

Here's a couple bucks off the highway

The big guy only had one horn, not the best pic but he had 5 points on the side he had

Here's my makeshift blind I made where i shot a buck from last yr. Only sat in it for a couple hours this yr.

Would have liked to have seen this buck, he looks like a 4x3 but from other a different pic he's definitely a 4x4

Wish i got a better picture of this guy, looks like he's got a sticker point coming off. What's funny is that my dad walked by and sat in my blind a half hour after this buck came through. I keep telling him to get there earlier

I think this was the only thing I saw that day

When i was skinning the skull out for a euro mount i noticed that my buck had a busted lower jaw, probably from fighting. Pretty sure he wouldn't have lived too much longer cause i don't think he would have been able to each much and would be already run down from the rut.
I'm glad i was able to find him

Brian, very sweet pics, even my wife commented on the cool moose shot. You have an eye there! I used to be a professional photographer in Europe so when I say that, it is the genuine thing!
Nice bucks, good symmetry and mass there. I bet they were tasty!
Keep up the photographs!
