My hunting bud has had a streak of sadness, his wife died 9 months ago and 3 weeks ago his older brother passed as well. And,he is just getting over a bout of pneumonia.Poor bugger.Yesterday I bullied him into a little evening hunt.We watched a pretty nice buck chase girls(no shooting zone) and as we got to my favorite hunting spot we spotted a fat 3 point.Buddy nailed him at 130`sh yards with my .243 BLR,one shot.He went from sad to glad instantly! Not too bad of a drag to get him loaded up but by the time we got to my garage to skin it,he was whitefaced tired.I sent him home and quickly skinned it out.Today I will cut and wrap and make burger for him.One of my favorite things in the world is butchering!Poor bugger thinks I`m doing him a favor:mrgreen:(I`m going to tell him he got one of those rare deer that has no tenderloins)
So,hunt this morning again, come home and cut up the buck, watch Sask start win the Greycup, hunt for an hour and catch the rest of the game.
I have been chasing a beauty buck for 4 weeks and now I don`t care if I get him or not.Just good to see my friend get loose of his troubles for a while. He was grinning` last night.

Haha Sawmill, I'm dropping off some animals for you to enjoy butchering. I'm getting tired of it this year.

When times are tough there is nothing like wilderness to clear ones mind. Getting the motivation to get out there is the hard part . Luckily he had a good friend like you to motivate him good job. Any pics of the feel good buck?
