I checked my t-cam today, 250 pics in 1 week. About 6 bucks, all muleys! Most of em ive showed you guys before, but 2 are down to 1 antler. The first pic had both antlers on Jan. 27, on the 29 hes down to 1. Most bucks had full headgear!

This mornng i went out in the back 40 to see what i could collect.
There was a lot of sign but no bones.
3 feet of snow isn't very ideal to go look for some antlers.
Boy was I pooped when came home.

Those are good pics by-the-way

There's a buck around here, wasn't huge or anything, he just has really crazy antler growth, one antler grows down and out, and the other one is normal...I figure it was caused by some sort of injury while he was in velvet...I'm gonna see if I can find his sheds, just cause they're different. Gotta start stomping through the bush again pretty quick :). Good times

Gotta love fresh brown. Congrats on the shed lapadat. I can't wait until April when the buried treasures will start appearing.

Gotta love those hand-held trail cams... they're so portable, and you never have to try and find the right tree it is pegged to. It can be a real butt-buster (for the children on the site) to get to the sheds though

The excitement of finding a good shed is quickly overtaken by the sick need to find its pair

Do you mean you grabbed a antler off a deer in your back 40 that was still on the deer? Must be some tame deer.

I thought I've seen everything in life, but maybe I have now? Give it a really good tug and see if you can hang on for a 8-second ride and get it on video for all us HBC members. Great pic too by the way.

yes eastkoot, very cool experience, and pic! Just keep tugging every few days and youll get em off! Youll have a shed that never hit the ground, now thats rare!

Lap,
I hear ya on that one. Several times, to find a match, I have spent over 40 manhours combing and have still come up empty. Makes me sick to the stomach and I loose a ton of sleep just knowing there is some rodent that may be chewing on one of my sheds.

I ain't that talented. I got an "A" in grade 9 Art, but I have no clue how, especially since we pestered the teacher until she was close to the looney bin. I couldn't draw a stick man if my life depended on it!

Mark-You should make a little antler snagger unit to put your apples in for this time of year. Would make for a lot less walking.........

Likewise, over the past couple weeks ive seen several mulies and whites around my house, all bucks still sportin head gear.

One muley was very decent, probably 150ish, considering he was in a very surburban area.

Checked my t-cam today, 211 pics, about normal for 1 week! There was 2 small 2 points with anlers 6 days ago, in the last 5 days theres not 1 set of bone to be seen. theres usually about 6 bucks that frequent the area on a daily basis! Heres a close-up pic where the antler came off!
