Just a couple photos here of a couple of my dogs and some pheasants we have taken this year. Numbers seem ok this year....probably down somewhat from an average year, but we're finding some birds. We don't go out and take our limit in 30 minutes like we have in some of the really good years, but we manage to find some birds if we put the time in.. We're in Northcentral Montana along the Milk River...about 30 miles south of where Montana, Alberta, and Saskatchewan all meet...

Here's Charlie, the old man of the bunch...

This is "Ted", but daughter's dog (one of Charlie's pups from about 4 years ago).

This is Dolly, one of me females. Dolly does a nice job. She's 5 years old now and spends most of her days looking at the sky for birds!!!

Wow them are awesome pics. Really like that kennel you got in back of your truck.

Wow them are awesome pics. Really like that kennel you got in back of your truck.

I like my kennel box also.. I used the Vari-Kennel type for years and they just don't hold up...between the heat and cold they always crack and break.....and the larger ones aren't cheap either! I picked up this aluminum box on sale for $250. I think they usually are about $500, but it will last forever (or a long time!). It' light enough to put in and out of my truck by myself. I can put two dogs in each side if I need to (Springer size dogs) and for short trips I can fit 3 in each side if I need to.

Another thing with the dog box....it has a lock and key, so If I run to town and buy a few things I just stick them in the box and lock it...

Nice pics and congrats on having such outstanding dogs! I have not hunted your area but have been to Montana many times closer to the Roundup area. Its all about getting permission to hunt there. Ted has the same markings as my new pup, Birdie. She is just 12 weeks just got her recently so missed the season here in BC. January will be our big month this year in Oregon for chukars and ruffies. a coupleof months ago I lost my gsp to an autoimmune disease so missed most of the season here in BC. Sure envy your Montana hunt.
