I was at a friends last night cutting up a nice whitetail that his grandson had shot on the weekend. We left his house about 5:45 PM. As we turned onto the Barkerville Hwy from McLean rd, I spotted something in the headlights. We drove down into the dip and could see something moving and we could tell it definitely wasn't a deer. When we reached the spot where the animal had gone down into the ditch, we saw not one, but two yearling bear cubs. They were high tailing it inton the bush. The only explanation I can come up with is that the sow had been killed earlier and these two had no idea that they were supposed to be denning up. This time of year there would not be any food for them and chances are that they will not make the winter.

There's a couple in AB who want to take one home. Maybe they'd have big enough hearts to adopt both of them. ;)
