View Full Version : Region 6 LEH Moose Hunt- Big muley Surprise!

Went for our Leh in region 6 on oct 11 and by the 12th I had filled the first day with a little imature.
And then on day 3 my buddy punched his muley tag with this big boy that we stumbled across standing on the lake shore.
Not bad for his first big game animal ever and the first kill with his brand new X-Bolt. Perfect spine shot!

Anyone care to take a guess what he scored?

Wow, congratulations to the poor bugger!! He's not likely to improve on this buck for a long time.

Tough to score from pics, no brows, good mass, but I'm going to guess 178" gross.

An very, very good buck and a fantastic buck for a first!

Great hunt!
Great pictures and one handsome buck!
Tall rack and it may be a long time coming for a new hunter to duplicate that quality.
Good on him!
I'm guessing around 170"

I work with this guy. Gord asked all the right questions and put himself in a good situation hunting with good people. Karma is loud and clear on this one. Well done buddy!

Is that G. Steele ? Nice buck buddy. C u at work.

Tyler24
11-23-2013, 09:37 AM
we did not get a weight on it, we butchered at my uncles house before we came home, but we figured is was every bit of 275 -300lbs, it was all me and my buddy could do to get that thing in the boat.

and yes that is G Steele, but don't tell him I posted those, haha, I couldn't help not sharing this buck with HBC community.

I would say it had a little bit of luck to it too because he was supposed to shoot the moose 2 days earlier that I shot, which would have meant I would have been the shooter on that deer, but was pumped he got to shoot it and make a perfect spine shot and dumped where it stood. cuz the shit we would have had to track that deer through was nasty!!

Sounds like you guys had a real good trip, and that's what it's all about! Real nice looking Buck, when the smoke clears, I'm going to guess around 169- 16/32's of a Inch. I really hope it go's way higher in score, but no matter what, that's one hell of Buck!!! The shooter did what some of us spend our entire lives trying to do, Congrats!!!
