Found this game cam in reg 3 a while back... Sorry the uploaded video isint that great.

Was wondering what the bait being used is. There is chunks of white stuff on the ground that I assume is some sort of salt lick... and then there is the hanging bag... its rigged up with ropes and pulleys which seem unnecessary... and I have no clue whats inside of it... wasn't about to fool with someones set up, but I am curious...

Aha, so it's your cam!

Iron Noggin mentioned in a thread that he hung salt in a panty hose type material so when it rained it leached out, and onto the ground. That's my guess along with others.

I could see what it was from a fair distance... Im pretty sure it was fairly freshly done... the hanging sack was the first thing I spotted from a ways away... the strange thing was that the fellow who had put it there used a quad to get to it which was less than a 10 min walk from the end of the road where you can park. He also used a chainsaw to cut a trail for his quad into the bush which was only 15 yds inside of the bush from the clearing... I dont understand why one would do that. If you down a moose in the bush and you want to get your quad to it and decide to clear a path... thats one thing, but to just cut it for no reason... kinda strange and invites people to investigate.

No odour and I didn't sense that it was any kind of lure for predators...

No I didnt smile or even moon the camera... though I've had plenty tell me I should have mooned it or worse lol...

And as for not effing with it.... Of course not... its just some guy out there doing the same as me.... I worry every single time I leave my truck or my tent or whatever that Im going to come back to damage or theft.... so far I've been lucky... I dont touch other peoples shite and I hope that they dont touch mine...

Mostly I was curious about the bait... I have an idea of a spot close to home that is bow only... I have practiced with the bow a lot but seeing as how I have never taken an animal with it I am skeptical about spotting and stalking one to within range so I was thinking about trying out the bait station thing and then setting up a ground blind in hopes of both taking my first bow kill and hunting close to home. I have no idea whats best to use.

I set up some feeders in a different spot earlier this year home made jobs that dispense COB.... but the area was a poor choice because though there are lots of deer, there are TONS of bears and Im pretty sure that the bears are all that fattened up.
