Hi there,
My son has a black tail doe tag for 5.01. Unfortunately dueto a broken leg playing hockey this summer he was only cleared at the end ofOctober to lose the crutches and go hunting. We did a day trip a coupleweekends ago in 8-5, of course saw a few BT does, but no LEH there ;-(
I don’t know 5.01 well, I’ve hunted the power line from LoneButte a bit and otherwise usually more towards Little Fort area.
He turned 14 this year and this is his first deer tag so I’dlike to see him have some success if possible. I’m sure there’s a substantialamount of snow up in 100 mile area by now, and I heard the wolf population wasreeking a bit of havoc on the deer population as well.
So, just wondering if anyone has been in 5.01 lately andhave any information they can share regarding snow conditions, areas to try and any deeractivity in the area? We’re thinking about heading up this weekend.
Thanks in advance,

CK

good luck on the mule deer hunt, shouldn't be hard to find a doe.

as stated above, mule deer, not BT.
Fawn lake might be an area of consideration
Doe's should not be hard to come by.
