Congratulations on a great animal!! Moose are big when they're within bow range, even young moose!

The terrain is open where he fell, was it a spot and stalk, or call in? Nice shoot placement to, slightly quartering away. Pretty cool pic with the arrow still intact. Usually they like to wreck your arrow as a last act.

Looks like you're very effectively using some "older" gear. Can you post a gear list?

Excellent animal, looks like the one I got last year with my crossbow. I have never eaten any better meat.
You lucky dog. Good job.

Thanks guys, 10yr old PSE with release, slick trick broadheads all I use. This was my fourth with my bull. Called him out of the timber he sounded a lot bigger. Passed on him at 60 yrds then moved and called him to 40yards. My two closet harvests were at 8 and 12 yards. my furthest at 68 yards all called in in the rut, I have lost count of all the ones that went side ways do to swirling winds at that magic moment. Two are listed in the Pope and Young record book, but I am a meat hunter first and formost. Whitetail maybe in Dec in Rock Creek.
