I've seen this guy around a few times in my neighbourhood but he's usually on the move in the dark. Today I spotted him with a doe and a couple of young ones up on the hill behind my street.

Since I can't shoot him with my rifle, I decided to shoot him the only legal way I can. Me and the girls went up around the bend for a stroll and we managed to stalk up to the group pretty close and grab some shots with the 5D and 300mm F4 L.

Biggest 2x3 I've ever seen live:

Great photos. Sometimes hunting with the camera is almost as fun. Almost..

Thanks! It has been quite a while since I've had my "real" camera out of the bag. Glad I did it though. My BB wouldn't have done such a nice job. :)

Almost is right. All I could see was boiler room and steaks.

Haha you bet. I just bought my wife a Nikon d800 for her birthday (she's a pro photo) so I look forward to bring her out on my outings and getting some nice shots like these

Trail of apples into my garage... Ambush with a knife?

Or do you have a better idea? ;)

Whatever it takes to get Mr. Puniverse out of the gene pool and into your freezer I'll support.

Thanks for your compliments everyone. Inspires me to bring the big gear from now on... I used to do way more shooting with my camera gear in a previous life, before I really got into hunting. Hmmm... Let's see if I have anything laying around on my server....

Exceptional pics, H_A! That's a very cool antler configuration on that moose.

Got any whitetail pics? :-D
