Here is my story and video clips on how my hunt unfolded getting my bull elk for the 2013 hunt.

Opening day for elk I was set up in my tree stand getting to my tree stand was a real problem there where a couple elk that where very close to my self climbing tree stand they where calling back to each other I just kept walking to my self climber when I got to my three stand I got my harness on and got up to the elevation I needed to be at .

I waited for about 10 min for things to settle down then gave a few cow calls the one bull screamed back at I gave a few more cow calls I heard him coming towards me from down below me in the timber.

The bull then held up I could not hear him coming any more the all of a sudden he barked at me he got my scent and was gone like he had came in I sat there for about 2 hours more without any bull calls I climbed back down and headed back to camp.

The second day of the season I headed back to the same place but this time I headed into my tree stand at dark was up in my tree stand before shooting light.
I waited for about 20 min before shooting light arrived to give my first cow call I then gave 6 cow calls all in different directions within 30 sec a bull called to me I then gave him a couple more cow calls he was coming in he showed himself but could not get a good clear shot at him he got suspicious and left as fast as he came in.

That night I got back into my three stand at around 5pm I gave a few cow calls nothing answered back to me I continued to call now and then for the next couple hours with no returns.
At about 830pm I then got a bull calling to me I stayed with my cow calling and the bull came in to my calls I put the cross bow on fire and readied it up in position to shot the bull came in to 30 yards and stopped side ways perfect shot for me I had thoughts in my mind do I shoot or let him walk it is late and very hot on this day can I get him out by myself ???? will be an all nigher for me to get this bull out ,,no I will let this bull walk ,,I then tried to get my video camera out of my pocket my tree stand made a noise as I shifted a bit to try and get my camera the bull bolted and was gone.

I did have the bull on my video camera this is the bull that came in on Sept 2 that late evening..

The next few weeks everything when dead and I mean it was quit I was giving up on elk and focusing on WT deer saw a few dandy deer but not the one I wanted .
I set up in rife season in a few cut blocks where I had saw a few dandy WT bucks one evening when I was set up I got a big surprise over to my far right out came a 5 elk four cows and one calf elk then followed by the bull elk I quickly unfocussed on the bull elk that came out yes it is a shooter bull but is it the bull I am after no.

Video clips tell all that I posted below I did want this bull but did I want it lots going through my mind not many bulls I have seen sense the opening day ,,can I get this bull out by myself this late evening ??? just what do I do ???.

First video clip of four I have never seen elk in this slash from when it was logged out four years ago ???

(http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaFOFGefvYM)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AaFOFGefvYM ......

Here is part two of four video clips there was so much going through my mind on what I should do and no one to ask for there opinion I had to leave after it got to dark to film any more I headed back to my hunting camp to poor a hard one and think about what I should do next its called a game plan and what should I do the next day ???? again no one to ask there opinion its up to me to make my plans on what to do..

After my second drink of Rye I had it all planed out for the next days evening hunt I did not want to go there first light because I might have pushed that bull and cows out of the area so my game plane was to head in there and set up a blind about 200 yard from where I saw them the night before ,,,get in there early to find a good place to set up and build my blind early afternoon I got there at 3pm to do what I had to do well before the elk would come out ,,,, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CfbMBsnDUxs

Here is part tree of my solo elk hunt..
The next day I headed our for deer I saw a couple decent WT bucks that morning not what I wanted I headed back to camp to get everything what I needed to head out that afternoon to get set up where I saw that bull elk the night before my thoughts where I'm I going to see that bull and his cows come out this late evening???.

The only way that I will know is to be there early and do my game plan building a blind and in the blind well before evening sets in ,,I had my game plane in place if I do see that bull I will take him and will ask Ray+Ray if there in there camp to give me a hand earlier on in the week when I talked to them one of the Rays said if you get an elk wee will help you get it out if needed.

This was one thing that stuck in the back of my mind as my other game plan was if Ray+Ray where not at there hunting camp I would head into Cranbrook that evening if I got a bull down and get my son and law to help me out on Sat morning to get this bull out..

As the bull lays..

The next day I got up early and headed up to where the bull lays I got there with everything I needed if I had to section out this elk ,,shotgun loaded with 3 inch long slugs 6 in the shotgun if needed .
I got up to the elk no bears had been there good thing it seamed like it took for ever for Ray+Ray to show up they showed up with two sideXside 2013 Suzuki quads and 2 other helpers.

Ray+Ray where right on time they showed up at 9am that Sat morning after there short morning hunt they got there quad right up to the elk so no sectioning of the elk was needed thank god saved lots of hard work again I thank them from the bottom of my hard ,,I gave them half of the elk to pick up at the butcher shop when done would not have had it any other way.

Here is the final video clips from my 2013 elk solo hunt I thank the person from above for letting all come together once again my health etc...
