hey HBC ,
well it was late season success but its better then no success, and after watching countless spikes and 2 points and 3 point muleys run over the hill in 4point season and a couple small small 2 point and spikes muleys I let go in early any buck, and after the luck I have been having this season with getting a 3x3 whitetail outta region 3-12 and having some other hunter take it while I was gone to get help when I got back all that was left was the ribs head and spine, I really needed something to go in my favor because it is getting to late in the season to be picky now that we are into November,
anyways I was out yesterday in my whitetail spot seen 6 does no bucks tons of snow on the ground over all was a good day,, so I woke up this morning headed back to the same spot on the quad again, when I got there I drove slowly up to the top or the mountain drove through the bluff that's at the top didn't see anything so I kept going and the road splits so I decided to go down first,, I drove not even 40 yards down the road and spotted a deer about 80 yards off to my left, so I shut my quad off jumped off the quad and jacked a shell but I couldn't see and antlers in between his ears when he was staring at me,, so I just stood there waiting for him to turn his head hoping to see bone,, and he did and a set of antlers swung with his head and when I seen those antlers I put the scope behind his shoulder and let the 300 win mag give him a dirt nap free hand from about 80 yards,, he dropped on the spot,, when I walked up to him I realized how wide he was and that's why I couldn't see antlers between his ears,, his antlers are just shy of 15 inches wide inside to inside ,, 16.5 inches wide outside to outside, and just over 13inches wide tip to tip of the main beams
here are a few pics enjoy :)
