Abbotsford bow bylaw?

Seeing tons of deer by my place in Abbotsford and it's driving me crazy. Almost hit a buck leaving for my last hunt. Is it legal to bow hunt in Abby city limits? Can't seem to google up much info.

Get the Fraser valley map it will show you the areas that are open to shotguns and bows!

All it says is that bows are not allowed in Chilliwack where firearms are not. Sounds like each municipality has it's own bylaw in bows.

You can hunt in some areas in Abbotsford. Like HH said, get the map AND the Fraser Valley Special Area Hunting License. You will need a 1-million dollar liability insurance either through your house insurance or the BCWF.

Bow is not a firearm so I think as long as there is no bylaw in place against bow (Chilliwack) and on crown land or land with permission, I'd be good to go?

Nope, there are areas that do not allow hunting (e.g:Sumas Mt Regional Park) at all and you need the special permit for the one that you're allowed to hunt. As two of us mentioned to you, get the map and study it. I used to have copy somewhere, but you can probably download it somewhere.

I know it not what you want to hear, but it is what it is.

The FV map only talks about firearms and not hunting though.

It would be in the cities bylaws. I know up here where I live we have a no hunting zone, a no rifle zone (shotguns and bows allowed), and an unrestricted zone all within municiple limits.

Call the City's bylaw enforcement officer. They should know just as much or more that any of us.
