Watched 5 bucks courting the Ladies last night at dusk.
Two of the Gals were still packing bambis and strongly rebuked the boy's advances - one going so far as to deliver a double rear hoof-plant to the Ladz chops! LOL!.
The other three were coyly leading their Dude in a fine Warm Up Waltz!
None were the Big Boy I am after, so even though all were in range, all got their ticket to continue...

From what we saw, The Dance is now in it's early stages here. Won't be long and methinks Mr. Wonderful will be making his annual appearance as King of the Prom!
Here's hoping I am there to bear witness - within bow range of course...

Cheers,
Nog

lol what the hell is a "bull deer", obviously not a hunter. I would have bow'd them both, the easiest two bucks you'll ever get on the island!

Some "interesting" developments last night...

Three of the Leading Ladies spotted out feeding right early in the afternoon. NO bambi's, No Bucks right into pitch black a couple hours later.

One of the main Belles of the Ball, after being seen in the company of a couple of the Young Guns the past little while, wandered into her own fawn which she had kicked free about a week ago now. At first the doe was a little stand-offish, but shortly accepted the fawn back, nuzzling and grooming her for a good period of time. The fawn was Happy Happy, and showed that by prancing and bouncing all around mom once the grooming had finished. The two fed off slowly into darkness. Suspect that Gal has been successfully bred...

Only one sighting of a buck trailing a doe...

Seems some of the hook-ups have already been successful methinks...

Thoughts?

Wondering...
