Nice job guys. Cool picture. Reminds me of the good old days when we could take any Bull up on the Sikanni Chief.

Not sure I counted at least 4 boats in the other pics. Their is a big crew I'm sure 5 + boats and 10 guys or more. I don't think that was all the moose either. Haven't talked to them much.

Was there an orange boat in the mix?

I have friends who have hunted there many years. 7 hunters got one moose. they were there early (last week of sept) and lots of people in the north reported things being slow. I'd be interested to hear when that group with the five moose were there. did the warm september keep the animals in the bush till the first week of october?

6 jet boats in the shop? You guys beat on your boats this year? I heard it was low water. What time were you up there?

7 boats, 12 of us I think. we went sept 27 for 9 days. it was really really warm. we all had grizz draws as well and none of us even caught a glimpse of one. we saw caribou which is normal, but we also saw 2 elk which is pretty uncommon I guess up there. there were 32 trucks at the launch when we went up there, lots came down empty. we had tons of fuel and covered a lot of ground. my fav area was the spatsiszi tons of sign up there. biggest bull was 54"

how far can you go up spatsizi? its a long distance. is Jewel rapids any issue? maybe easier at low flow?

there was a custom weld, Skeena vally fab , some others but the real winners were the fire fish out of alberta, especially the piranha. I honestly couldn't count the number of fuel totes tons and tons of them. jewels rapids was fine( also where the elk were spotted) we went far up the spatsiszi, right at the bottom of the "red mountain" I don't know the actual name of it. I was a tag along on a free trip with some good people, one of my best experiences ! and I filled my tag:)

Good to hear. I own a firefish hammerhead 18.5 ft. How many klicks or how much fuel to hit the spatsizi? Been thinking about going there.

steve does unreal work the other firefish up there was a hammer head. we camped just bellow the pitman and we would go about 3-4 hrs so probably 2-2.5 hrs up the spatsiszi. sometimes both tanks and a tote for fuel. it was so low up there tho, we beached the orange boat a few times there. that's where the piranha was awesome, it could get on step in a puddle.

Thanks norbc. Sounds like a wicked trip. Did the hammerhead do well? Mine is solid, but a hog on fuel.

it was the only one out of 7 that didn't break anything. but it was also used a lot less. just a awesome boat and just a pig on gas. I put a few photos on my profile of the trip, im too dumb to make an album.

the mountain is called Red Goat Mountain. If you haven't read it, pick up a copy of Bob Henderson's book "in the land of the Red Goat". Amazing stories from that country from an early outfitter. I read it this summer again with my boys while we paddled the spatsizi. I can understand why you liked that part of your trip!!
