I was a pose to go duck hunting with my friend at our field tonight. I couldn't make it out due to work and daylight savings, but I wish I could have. I don't know if anything would have happened differently if I was there but my friends dog was struck by a car on the road and died. I got a phone call expecting him to tell me about some great hunting I missed but instead it was a phone call to help bury his best friend. I feel bad for not being able to be there. Rest in peace Jake.

Sucks, had to bury a few of my own over the years, doesn't get easier as we get older. All my best to your friend.

I feel for you and your partner, I have outlived far to many and to loose one to soon especially to a sensless accident hurts all the more. Condolences remember that for gundogs and their partners there is no Rainbow Bridge "Only" fields, woods and marshes teaming with birds where the season never ends.
