Decided to end my muley season early

With only one more weekend left for rifles I decided to end my muley season in region 8 a little early. Not a bruiser but some meat for the winter.

No, I've been hanging around home hunting this year. 3 is an option but will probably try for a whitetail yet in 8.

The bucks are out chasing the does around for sure. I think I actually passed on this one, or at least one very similar, in september. Actually I was trying to get the girlfriend to drop him but she didn't have a clear shot.

I been thinking of hunting solo for muley in the high country but the weight has concerned me.

i'm absorbing what I can from here on deboning and packing a deer out.
I've always drug my deer up until now.

I didn't weigh this pack but last years weighed in at 130 pounds if I remember correctly. This one would be about the same. One trip, I was by myself and didn't want to make two trips up back in there. I was a little sore by the time I got out. I have a good pack, otherwise I wouldn't suggest it. I am prepared for the weight out when I go in. My gear isn't the lightest but I know that and don't have an issue with it.

i did did see a buck I would have loved to cull out of the gene pool yesterday as well. A rather large 3 by 1 buck but as it was 4 point season I had to let him go and shoot this one.
