Headed out at about 10 this morning after dropping my wife off at work. By 11 I was set up. Wind was howling on and off and rain was beating down pretty hard at times. I set up 6 teal decoys and a couple mallards down wind and had pintails and mallards upwind with my mojo decoy in the big landing hole I left in the middle. To be honest, I am a crappy shot, so I set up pretty close to where I wanted the birds come in. Had my homemade layout right at the water edge. Worked great

Anyway, was an awesome time. Tons of ducks flying, so easy to let the ones outside my comfortable range go. Had my limit by 1pm, and on 11 shells. Like I said, I'm a crappy shot but today the ducks were decoying right in close making it easy. Fun Morning, I think I'll have to do it again tomorrow

Sounds like a productive day. Looks like you got it figured out pretty well I 'd say.

Nice shoot! You're dead on where the birds wanna be in the bay, it sure pays off to do it right! What did you use to make the frame for the homemade layout if you don't mind me asking?

1"x1 " pine frame, door panel ply and glassed it all when done so it water proof. Some paint and an old tarp and it was done.

Thats pretty slick, is it hard to drag? and does it easily convey all your dekes?

easy enough to drag on land. I tow loaded with decoys behind a canoe no problem. I did a test last week and it floats well with me in it. I think I'm going to build another in the off season, but make it a bit bigger "more of a sneak boat".
