My guess would be over 4 times the number they are quoting. The Liers don't want their study money to end.

Softball article at best. Maybe thats what it takes to start introducing the public to the idea that a cull is needed.

Heard about? How about WATCHED an attack or saw the direct results of.
"says he has heard about quite a few wolf encounters recently. He actually came across a bunch of wolves attacking cattle in the alpine area north of Cherryville last year."

I hunted Cherryville last late Nov. and we saw lots of wolf tracks on the roads behind the airstrip area.

“There seem to be lots of issues out there with cattle, farmers and ranchers.
A BIT of an issue? Is there a lot or a bit?
"It definitely sounds like there's a bit of an issue"

Ritcey admits he has also heard about a lot more 'anecdotal' wolf sightings recently. He notes the statistics don't necessarily reflect those.

Statistics are like women; mirrors of purest virtue and truth, or like whores to use as one pleases. (Theodor Billroth (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Theodor_Billroth))

I have looked at many wolf tracks around Kamloops in the last few years and took a shot at one close to town. I don't have enough time here to say if its worse than before but there is no shortage currently, thats for sure.

Dually and I don't think there is a wolf problem here in BC. We told them to all just get along with the deers.

The only good wolf is a dead wolf.

"A 2012 Provincial Wolf Management Plan (http://www.env.gov.bc.ca/fw/public-consultation/grey-wolf/docs/PublicConsultation-WolfManagementPlan.pdf) says wolf numbers have steadily increased in the province. The population has gone from 6,300 in 1979 to 8,500 in 2012."

"It is believed this increase is better attributed to 'changes in precision and method of estimation, rather than a trend in the provincial wolf population' and does not reflect a need for a wolf cull in the province (http://infotel.ca/newsitem/Open-season-wolf-hunt-comes-to-Okanagan/IT556)."

What a bunch of political BS. Anybody that lives works or spends much time in the bush knows differently. These researchers, or whoever, should get out of their office and do a bit of field observations!

What the heck is this guy from wild safe saying? Reported wolf sightings? Who are they talking to? Between 4 of my buddies we've seen 13 in different area,This fall. are we suppose to report sightings to some dude? I like the tale of two hunters........ Makes it sound like a fairy tale! I guess it could be because we don't have many wolves in bc.
