A buddy and I are planning a last kick at the can hunt in the Christian Valley on the November long weekend for whitetails and muleys. Problem is neither of us have ever been there this late in the season and were wondering if anyone can give us any pointers?!

Thanks a lot

Unless you are a youth hunter, mules are now closed in 8-12 to 8-15.

As for WT's, get off the roads, find areas where the deer are moving and sit still...

I've had people tell me that the deer move out of that area completely by the end of October. Is this true?

Not true. They move out of the higher country and into that area.

Thanks for the help coach I really appreciate it! Is it better to camp farther up the valley or down at the bottom? We were planning and staying at state creek I believe its called.

I am heading into 8-14 for a week starting Sunday. Taking my son for a crack at a Muley and maybe a whitey for me and the wife if we can find any :)

That all depends....
Snow is a big factor with deer movement in the valley, as is hunting pressure.
I like the area between two cut blocks. I find when the deer get pressured they (bucks) like to travel them for security.
If you can find a active travel route, find a good vantage point and sit.
Or if your good & have the patients try "still hunting", this method still works the best for me.

I will send you a PM with more info.
Good luck.
