The Provincial Government collects game harvest and hunter survey statistics using several mechanisms.
Some are: Hunter survey data by way of questionnaire. Hunting license and tag purchases. Enforcement activities. Data collected by Butchers. Data collected by other agencies. etc.
Questions:
what are all the factors and data used to produce the harvest and hunter activity statistics?
do the current methods of game harvest and hunter activity data collection accurately (within 10%) reflect the actual harvest levels and actual hunter activity? (I.e. Do people report truthfully?)
Is there other data that should be used? How?
