Going to get some whitetail hunting in this month. In the Okanagan region from my observations it seems the whitetail rut kicks into full gear 3rd weekish of November, what time typically do you all find it kicks into gear in your areas?? What tactics do you all find the most successful? Treestands? Spot and Stalk?? Are all times of the day good hunting? Does a full moon and clear skies at night mean less movement during the day durin the rut as well? Any of you have success rattling or grunting, or do you find there are many more does than bucks therefore the bucks aren't coming into rattles/grunts??

Treestands or ground blinds. Move less, see more when it comes to whities.
Sit dark to dark.

Rattling works well for me from about Nov. 21st to Dec. 10th. It's nice to have some crunchy snow on the ground so you can hear them coming.

here's a fellow I encountered on Wednesday in region 8.
he was in the company of three does.
he looks a little swollen to me.

I rattled one in yesterday. Seeing rubs and scrapes too.

some serious scrapes popping up on secluded trails in the boundary area. three young bucks tagging a doe & fawns last night on a local west koot game cam. things are finally ramping up. another week & we should begin to see some daytime movement & bigger bucks out looking. some snow is in the forecast for higher elevations over the next few days which would help scouting enormously...

Intersting - a friend of mine, who has hunted here for 35 years, says he consistently expects to rattle them in on Halloween. Apparently he always liked to have one hanging when the kids showed up. :-D

I was thinking the same thing, probably should have shot with the gun not the camera!

i was actually intending to do a thread on that day's hunt, but decided against telling the story as it will just get trolled and locked like my thread about my last day's outing.

If you dish it you have to be able to take it. Toughen up butter cup.

Did you shoot it or not Duallie?? Why is it so hard for you to get along with people here. Posting a pic of a cranker WT and leaving us hanging just is trolling. Come on man!!

I still think your Jeff on a neighbours computer sometimes.
