I am doing some research into floating the Turnagain river and would like to talk to anyone that has done this route. Looking for some info on

-drop in point
-Time needed to hunt/drift the river
-Potential rapids/log jams
-Type of boat used
-Time of year to float
-Flow levels
-River gradient

And any other info that would be relevant

Thanks in advance

I think you can fly into Dall lake and take the Dall river down to the turnagain.

I read an account of how someone put in at Turnagain Lakes , maybe a paddling site could help?
Dall or Windy Point would be options, depending on equipment and intents, time would vary greatly.
Maybe contact Scoop Lake or Northern Rockies Air as they have catered to paddlers

Look at laurel archers book northern bc canoe routes volume two. Lots of options including the full river trip that includes a six km portage of turn again falls.

I've done it in my canoe. PM me for details.....FYI you need to be a competent paddler comfortable in Class 3+ water......

Buy Laurel Archers books. She's canoe'd alot of the northern rivers and has documented everything you need to know with most. I believe the Turnagain is in one of them.
