Has anybody used or about to use the Havalon Piranta knife. Thinking about getting it but would like some feedback from someone who has used it. Would like more opinions then just YouTube.

Delimbed, skinned, and deboned 2 large bodied Muley's on 2 different trips small enough to fit in my packbag and hike out of the high country this year and still working on the same blade. I have several good knives but this will definitely be my go to knife for anything more in the future. Don't hesitate to buy yourself one, just be careful with these scalpels..............................

Yes, yes, yes and yes. It's an incredible knife concept. Be carelful though, I have become blood brothers with many an animal using my Piranta!

Great knife .... careful when inside with it as it is "scalpel sharp" and will slice you badly if you are not careful.

My hunny gave me one for my birthday, skinned a beaver with it the other day, pretty much amazing!! Think it will be my new "go to knife" for any skinning I do.

I would suggest the new Bolt over the Edge as it has thicker blades.

With all this positive I have to bring up the negative I have broke two blades so far this season they are very week side to side. The down fall of this is you need pliers to change the blade and extra blades in your pack and changing the blade in the dark with blood all over hands and a pack of wolves circling you kill is a pain In the ass. On both occasions I just grabbed my spare fold up knife to finish the job. So the moral of the story is bring a spare knife if you have the havalon

Great little knife, however it will not take a lot of sideways pressure on the blade. Blades will snap.

Hahahaha, I just used mine today to cape a mule deer and broke the blade before I got to the eyes. Definitely something to consider. I will go back to my scalpel with the stout blades for caping chores, but I've still got faith in the Havvy for gutting/skinning.

Changing dull blades is a snap, literally, as I found out today. Putting a new blade on is simple as well, just get it started and then lightly push the tip against something hard with your finners well clear. Popping a sharp blade off to clean before reattaching is a little trickier.

Be careful where you keep it. I've lost two off of my belt in the last two seasons. I liked it enough to buy a third one; hopefully I've learned my lesson :)

Get a bright orange one!

They're great.
I change the blades with a leatherman.

Used a blade to gut a deer, then another to skin it.
Used a few blades doing a moose. Just skinned the head out 10 minutes ago and used 2 blades for that.

Pretty awesome little knives

Excellent knife for skinning! I wouldn't want to be without my gut hook Buck knife as far as doing the entire job, however...
