View Full Version : First day for ducks...finally

Finally was able to put a day off and a good tide together to get out for our first duck day of the season. Late afternoon flood in the marsh made for a decent day. Set out a couple dozen mallard dekes and the spinner. Fleshed out the old blind. Tidied up the surroundings and got down to waiting.

Spirit waited patiently.......mostly.

And after only a few minutes the Widgeon started to fly in, in small groups. Not what I expected but they were welcome none the less.

Added one Golden Eye, our first ever. And finished up with a total of 6 birds.
