Got my first buck of the season on oct 1. Reg 8 3x3 buck so decided yesterday to head to 3-19 and try merritt. All morning battled snow and rain. Nearly froze and was gonna call it quits but then it got nice and checked the other side. 2km i past a gut cutting wood and on the noel saw my first deer of the day and was a buck. Didnt know how many points but saw wood. Just before i loaded my pea shooter it took off in behind so i watched it and knew he went behind thr old skidder road. I slowly walked up and around the bend saw him eatting. Shot him on the neck to save meat. Found him 30 yards from the shot. Went back to the bike and saw the guy coming down the road. He stopped and we chatted, told him i got a buck but have s down tree i gotta get around with the bike. He was nice enough to cut it up for me to get my bike through. So i gave him 2 of my sandwitches as a thank you. Loaded the deer and skinned out just in time for dinner and play with my daughter. Good luck everyone out there. Be safe
