Found a field full of ducks in the am. Lined up a shoot with a few buddies(3 of them) first thing in the morning. 1 by 1 they all bailed before 2pm.
Made a post on FB that I have a field full of ducks and no one to hunt with, and Andy said he'd go. We had never hunted together but knew each other through friends.
Met at the field at 4 and got set up. had one flock come in feet down at 5ish and 5 shots zero ducks. Then it was dead. literally saw nothing. I was thinking great, first time I take this guy out and I am going to suffer my first skunk ever in BC. Well the last 15mins of light every duck in the valley showed up and it was raining puddle ducks. We stopped shooting with ducks all over because I knew we were getting close to our limit. by the time we retrieved everything we had 15 and the ducks were still coming.
Couple quick notes, good north wind blowing almost all night last night. Saw my first swans. killed 3 full plumage redlegs in the bunch. Big front coming through this week bringing north winds and rain. a BIG push of ducks is coming!
Afternoon shoots are killing the photo ops!
