Peace River Elk-LEH

Hey there Guys, So I was drawn for LEH ELk hunt (Any ELk) in the Peace River Area and dont really know where to even start.. I deifnetly plan on going up and not letting a tag go to waste. Have any of you hunted up there? and if so howd you go about it?? Thanks for the help!!

Phone the consevation office (some sporting goods stores have them also)closest to where you are going, they have a list of names of farmers that are being bothered by elk, get names and phone numbers and start phoning. Try to phone in the evening when they are at home. Remember that there may be time zone changes between where you are and the area that you want to hunt in. Gook Luck

As for timing, your best bet is to watch the weather. You will have a much more succesful hunt if you can come up when there is a bunch of snow and a cold snap around -20 or colder.

Elk will be feeding on farmers hay bales.

There is not much of a list anymore, your best bet is to come on up and drive the backroads, locate some elk and ask permission. If they are eating someones hay bales you shouldnt have any problems getting permission.

You can get a map/book with the landowners name on each quarter and go from there.
