Great to see that salmon are thriving, even if its somewhere else. Hopefully the people in charge can learn from it.

Lots of hatcheries down south. Even sturgeon. Talked to a guy fishing for sturgeon in Astoria a few years ago. They have retention for small ones (I think that meant around 48") because of the hatcheries. Tons of salmon and steelhead as well. It was lots of fun going thru the hatcheries on our trip down there. It seems our government doesn't recognize the value of fishing.

Almost 15000 trips for 5000 fish, 1 fish for every 3 trips out. Good to hear about record returns but I think they need Nog down there to teach them how to fish!

Columbia is one of the most messed up rivers in the world with dams yet great returns of Chinook.
Certainly something to be learned there.
