First year of hunting Kamloops area...

Day opener started off by seeing 2, 4 point mulies, only had a shot at the second one and missed, later found out my sights were off after missing a third 4 point. The buck would have been my biggest to date, and was still in velvet. (see photo below) Been going up to a buddies cabin in the Kamloops area and it's not uncommon to see 10-15 bucks a day, which was awesome to see, compared to the PG hunting i've grown a custom too the last 10 years. (Going to miss the moose hunting) A group of three of us and my son were able to bag 2 bucks opening day of "any buck" one was taken by a fellow co-worker and beginner hunter, so that was good to see and the other by another co-worker. Tomorrow I will explore a new area, Stump lake..

Pics look great. Loks like you are having one hell of a season. Just wait till November when there is massive 4 points walking around every cut block in the mulie haven of kamloops.

curious why you wrap your deer in tarp or plastic? i've been taught never to do that always take the skin off as quickly as possible and hang a tarp over in case it rains.

When I got back to camp the guys had already skinned and cleaned the deer, they weren't around, and it warmed up pretty quick, the flies were all over the deer, so I quickly put what tarps and what cheese cloth I had on the deer until they returned, the flies were getting through the cheese cloth so we covered them with tarp again to keep them out.

Back from Stump Lake area today, I swear they're paving a freeway through there, over hunted, and during the week? Crazy! Saw two big moose though, sat and called to them for a bit. Not many deer to be seen.

This photo looks like a painting, you should have it printed on a canvas and hang it on the wall...
