Some background, IN 1998 I completed and passed my Canadian Firearms Safety Course, I talked with someone in the Gov and they have it on file. I'm able to apply for my restricted, Should I apply for my RPAL or just the PAL, I have no plans on getting a hand gun but would be nice to have the option and I'm in no rush to get my PAL in hand as I'm planing on hunting next year.

THANKS

Get both at the same time, you may want to get a trappers license or decide you like target shooting.

that's what I'm thinking but, I never applied for my PAL in the past and am wondering if the laps of time would raise some red flags?

It shouldn't, I let mine have a long lapse...they told me it wouldn't be a problem, so long as the other stuff was ok.

Well, I guess I should of picked up the phone as well. I also had taken my course a few years ago but never got around to applying. I just figured it would of probably been a problem so I took the course again. Oh well the second time was with my son so it was a memorable experience anyways.

I am so happy that I don't need to re-do the course, as well the lady on the phone was supper nice, and easy to deal with, but I was very nice to her, I think she was happy no to talk to a pissed off hunter who's PAL is lapsed during hunting season=)

I did mine when I was 13 or 14, sent the application off at 19, had it back within a couple weeks.
