Heres a few pictures from today, my brother, Steelpulse got a LEH bull tag for 3-19a hunted hard from opening day, and called in and shot his first bull moose today. I drove out to meet him and we spent almost 10 hours pack it out of the bush. 2km from the road, made for a great first moose hunt. he will tell his story tomorrow, he hunted since sunrise this morning and we got home after 11.

Cool to have a live photo too. Great to get a draw during the rut; I bet they're not too thick in that area?

so started 4 days hunting with our dad on opening day unfortunately couldnt make it happen, called called called some more but nothing, after he left on the 5th we took the opening weekend for bucks off because it was a zoo up greenstone, as well we also changed our hunting location from dominic lake area to greenstone mtn, we had not seen anything and heard another LEH hunter had got his bull in dominic lake area so we figured should change it up to our second scout spot which.
Hunted everyday after class finding almost 40 rubs, fresh crap everywhere, beds, you name it the sign as there and was fresh throughout the week, so i put up the game came and found his picture on it the morning that I shot him, the picture was 2 days old but gave me enough to keep in the area as it was the only bull I had seen, headed to the back side of greenstone 2km from the road in a large section of new growth sat down let it settle, let out what felt like the 1000th time calling to which I had gotten no responses yet, and 15 minutes later he comes walking at good pace straight at me, got gun ready moved up to a tree for some cover and he appeared 30 yards to my left raking a tree about 2 minutes later, he cut the distance very quickly I thought it was a different bull, amazing how fast they move as quietly as they do, anyways he kept coming walking broad side at 30 yards had my shot hit lungs, took all 3 remaining shots one in the back as it was running one miss i think maybe hit a tree or maybe just a miss as it was very thick, and then finally he stopped looked back and put the 4th through the heart dropping him, started with gutting as my brother drove up from kamloops, we took 5 hours for first load and quartering and gutting and then my brother had to go as turkey in the oven so i did 2 loads solo and then he came back with change of clothes and helped with the last load which took us to 1045 at the car, was an epic time loved every minute my first moose so couldnt be happier, hard work pays off, just gotta keep at it

Not sure what the density of moose around here is, we have found a couple nice bulls over the years here, but don't look for moose to much just see sign and randomly in the bush every once in a while, I think the numbers are decent though

Cool to have a live photo too. Great to get a draw during the rut; I bet they're not too thick in that area?
