My hunting partner and I hunted the red road area of 6-01 for one week the last few days of september, first few days of october, went high, went low, paddled up creeks and across lakes, hiked around didn't see one animal, no moose, no deer, no bear. In places we did find a decent amount of moose sign, even a nice 7 point shed antler, but all of it at least a few months old no matter where we looked. One person re ran into suggested that a prolonged dry spell in the area might have forced the animals up to higher elevations. The moose LEH we have is good to November 15 I believe. Does anyone with experience in this area know if there is some inmigration later in the season, would it be worth a try in early November. I don't want to waste this LEH as it wil probably take some years to get another.
